EVERY CHILD DESERVES A FAMILY!

Domestic child adoption is an alternative family-based care which provides loving families to Kenyan children. Our domestic child adoption program is legally registered and licensed as “Buckner Kenya Adoption Services”, and goes by the slogan “Every Child Deserves a Family!” We offer child adoption services to Kenyan citizens only, guiding them through the nitty-gritties of local adoptions in Kenya. Buckner Kenya Adoption Services (BKAS) is a registered Adoption society in Kenya and the main objective is to facilitate adoption LOCALLY so that all children who’ve lost contact with their parents due to all causes, find care. BKAS provides professional advice and related services to Kenyan citizens and residents who wish to adopt. The guiding principle to our services is the best interest of the child as we believe that adoption is the greatest gift anyone can give to a child who needs to be brought up in a family set up. Our mission is to be the leading local child adoption agency of choice, with every child growing up feeling loved and supported. Our vision is to secure families for every orphaned, abandoned, and mother-offered child in Kenya.

Types of Child Adoption

Domestic (local) Adoption: This type of adoption involves adoptive parents that are Kenyan citizens.

Resident Adoption: Involves adoptive parents who have stayed in Kenya for more than three years.

Intra-Family (Kinship)Adoption: This type of adoption can take place due to various difficult circumstances surrounding the child, for example, a child can be legally adopted by a step parent after the biological parent has remarried or when the parents die or are incapable of caring for the child. The advantage of an intra-family adoption is that the child is not completely uprooted from his/her culture and surroundings. This is especially important for older children.

What Child can be Adopted?

  1. Orphaned children: The parents of such children have died and the children may not have a surviving relative to take care of them.
  2. Abandoned children: These children have been deserted by their birth mothers in hospital or by the road side and other places.
  3. Mother-Offered Children: These children are surrendered for adoption by their mothers for several reasons.
