Transforming lives through new shoes.

The five-day shoe distribution exercise, whose theme was driven from Luke 10;27, involved a group of 8 missionaries from the United States and staff from Buckner Kenya. The teams participated in various activities including; Sharing Bible stories, hygiene lessons and outdoor gaming activities.

New shoes provide assurance to children from vulnerable family backgrounds that people out their care and love them without reserve.

“Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls has played a major role in ensuring that children from all corners of the world get new shoes. They are ambassadors of hope and love in our community and we really appreciate them for that.” said Dickson Masindano, Executive Country Director for Buckner Kenya. “The shoes improve the health of the pupils, boosts their self-esteem, and improves their performance in school, since they are able to attend classes without failure.”

Pupils from Hope Buckner Community School in Bungoma, Cornerstone Educational Center in Busia, Seed of Hope Academy in Kitale, Baptist Preparatory School in Nairobi and Reynolds Community school in Cherangany receive new shoes annually from Buckner Kenya, in the spirit of love.

“We begin by ensuring that the kids feel well because there are children who come from various family backgrounds in our schools, therefore, we give them new shoes and socks annually so that they can feel loved and for them to know that they are all equal,” said Dickson.

For Collins Kiptoo, a grade 4 pupils at Reynolds Community school in Cherangany, receiving shoes from Buckner Kenya is such a fascinating eye-opener, he can comfortably walk to school during different weather conditions, and fully concentrate on his studies.

“I would like to thank Buckner in general for providing us with new shoes and socks annually. It is an opportunity that many pupils across the country, especially those from vulnerable family backgrounds look forward to but do not have a chance. We are grateful to everyone who donated shoes and socks for us, may God bless each one of you abundantly.” said Collins.
